Como consecuencia, muchas empresas e instituciones están cada vez más sensibles a las preocupaciones ambientales, sociales, y otras de un futuro a largo plazo. La sostenibilidad tiene muchas definiciones ambientales, sociales y económicos. En este curso, vamos aexaminar los principales problemas ambientales y tendencias que suceden en la sociedad moderna desde una perspectiva científica y práctica, incluyendo la energía y el uso de otros recursos, la contaminación, el cambio climático, el agua, y la población. Definiciones conceptuales de la sostenibilidad serán introducidas y discutidas y planes de sostenibilidad de las organizaciones e instituciones serán examinads y criticarlas.
