El propósito del módulo es fortalecer el conocimiento de los participantes sobre el perfil epidemiológico del VIH en Puerto Rico, la cascada de atención del VIH y su importancia para el seguimiento clínico y programático de las personas con VIH. Además, permitecontrastar la situación epidemiológica de Puerto Rico con el panorama mundial del VIH. El módulo también aborda el cernimiento rutinario para VIH, incluyendo las recomendaciones del algoritmo establecido por los CDC para realizar pruebas diagnósticas. En conjunto, ofrece una base esencial para que los profesionales comprendan la magnitud del VIH en Puerto Rico, interpreten los indicadores de atención y reconozcan la importancia del diagnóstico oportuno como parte de la respuesta salubrista y clínica al VIH.
