El curso se centra en la concienciación sobre LSS y abarca los principios básicos de Lean Six Sigma. Lean Six Sigma es una metodología que maximiza el valor para los accionistas mejorando la satisfacción del cliente, los costos, la calidad y la velocidad de los procesos. Lean Six Sigma combina dos técnicas de mejora: Lean y Six Sigma. La filosofía Lean se centra en eliminar el desperdicio y acortar constantemente el tiempo de ciclo. Six Sigma se centra en la calidad y la reducción de la variabilidad. Combinarlas ayudará a las industrias de servicios y de fabricación a operar de manera más eficiente, ya que elimina la variabilidad de los productos y servicios y reduce el desperdicio en el inventario, el procesamiento, la espera, el movimiento, el transporte y la sobreproducción. A lo largo del curso, las fases DMAIC (Definir, Medir, Analizar, Mejorar y Controlar) integran herramientas clave de ingeniería industrial para mejorar todo el sistema.
